1. The bass sounds like synth bass, not an electric bass guitar. I AM biased because I'm a bass player, but I think many will agree the bass line on the original is better.
A real electric bass has an "attack" at the beginning of each note - you can hear the player's finger release the string. I wonder if they could have used a keyboard sound with some attack. Without it, it sounds like it's missing something!
2. Youssou N'Dour is awesome.
3. Youssou always has great bass players.
