to make things clear, theres both... theres a bird on the ground but in the original there is a hanging man... but it's a prop.. the art director slipped it in there because he was upset with the director... thats why in the digital remastered version ONLY the bird is there... they edited the man out
its a bird.......to make it clear for those who say its a suicidal munchkin watch carefully, on a different video, right before the tin man starts to sing you can see this massive bird flap its wings, you cant miss it
The forest scenes in the Wizard of Oz were filmed separate from the munchkin scenes, no munchkin's were present during the filming of these forest scenes so there could have been no accidental munchkin hangings. MGM would also have never allowed such a clip to be accidentally included in a family film of The Wizard of Oz's caliber as any death on the set would have required a police investigation and report, the producers could have been liable for Manslaughter charges in court.
An old urban legend claimed that, in the film, a Munchkin could be seen committing suicide (hanging by the neck from behind a prop tree and swinging back and forth) far away (left) in the background while the Group were singing We're Off to See the Wizard and skipping down the yellow brick road into the distance. The object in question is actually a bird borrowed from the L A Zoo, most likely a crane or an emu, one of several birds placed on the indoor set to give it a more realistic feel.
Did you seriously make a video of yourself filming another YouTube video?
