This Bushmaster has the Fail Zero basic kit installed. Which includes a Mil-Spec bolt carrier group and hammer. The kit is a very reasonable upgrade for the AR platform given the real world performance advantages that it offers. It offers a self lubricating surface, increased wear resistance, chemical resistance, heat dissipation, and ease of cleaning.

To purchase new coated parts or have my parts coated that is the question. Due to the labor costs of disassemble, cleaning, and removing the finishes from the old parts, it winds up that the difference in cost of new coated parts and coating your parts is less than $50. I decided the better value was to purchase new parts.

It seams like a perfect solution to an age old problem and it is proving to be exactly that.

  • let me ask, do youy know is it a must to use the FZ hammer? I have a Timney and a RRA 2 stage and just curious?

  • @OICU81272 You dont have to run it, it will be fine....

  • so if the BCG is that much harder it really would be wise to just buck up and get the upper coated also? Id think that something that hard incontact with an alum. upper would cause pre mature wear problems...?

  • @CPLBSS88 I wound up and got the upper also, but the surface is so slick on the carrier that it actually wears less with less lubrication.

  • Great Vid! I have the Fail Zero and I just gave my opinion about it in a vid. I highly recommend it for any ar15 owner! You would be surprised how many people dont know how to properly lube an Ar15. Fail Zero eliminates the guess work or the grease vs oil argument. I have put my basic kit through the test and it preforms 150% back every time. My AR's run better, smother and are more accurate. I highly recommend!

  • @CorruptArsenal213 That sound great!

    Thanks for the input.

  • @CPLBSS88 having rough carpenter 1058 steel standard Bolt running in the aluminum upper actually causes more wear according to some I have read. The lubricity of the Nib supposedly reduces that wear. I run a Failzero with a small amount of Slip 2000 EWL. Works so well I cannot believe it. Yeah it runs well cleans easy. They work. The FZ bolts are machined and made by AO-Advanced Ordnance and coated by Failzero UCT coatings.

  • exo rocks! this stuff is crazy! harder than hard chrome and self lubricating... whats there to not like?

  • @docholiday82 Wrong. keep it wet and it will run.

  • @semiautoriflelover Not any, but I still have been using CLP on it.
