Bruce Springsteen - Kingdom of Days
Music Video
Off his latest album Working on a Dream (2009)

LYRICS:

With you I don't hear the minutes ticking by
I don't feel the hours as they fly
I don't see the summer as it wanes
Just a subtle change of light upon your face

Walk away, walk away, walk away, walk away
This is our kingdom of days

I watched the sun as it rises and sets
I watched the moon trace its arc with no regret
My jacket 'round your shoulders, the falling leaves
The wet grass on our backs as the autumn breeze drifts through the trees

Walk away, walk away, walk away, walk away
This is our kingdom of days
This is our kingdom of days

I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I do
You whispered "then prove it, then prove it, then prove it, to me baby blue"

When I count my blessings and you're mine for always
We laugh beneath the covers
and count the wrinkles and the grays

Sing away, sing away, sing away, sing away
Sing away, sing away, my darling, we'll sing away
This is our kingdom of days
This is our kingdom of days
This is our kingdom of days
This is our kingdom of days
This is our kingdom of days

  • Bruce just gets better with age. Im glad to have his music as a part of my life. He make the bad times more barable

  • Laughing under the covers and counting wrinkles and greys, such a true statement, a reminder that there are still couples out there who want nothing more then to grow old together and enjoy every moment of it

  • Love is such a Fleeting Moment in today's society. It appears that couples are falling like flies in the summer time.

If you have found a Love that will stand the test of time and is the driving force that wakes you up in the morning and motivates your feet to hit the floor running toward the day with the knowledge that there is someone in that day that is going to hold you and never let you go, someone who really kisses the hurts, pains, and sorrows of this world away, HOLD ON DON'T LET GO

  • Got to love his Not bad face at 1:40

  • Bruce has aged gracefully and keeps evolving into the musician and poet we have grown old with.

  • @KleWdSide Will somtimes you need to be at a certain age or not even that but just a certain point in you're life. At my age I understand what hes saying . I'm speaking just for me. Just what I feel but to each his or her own.

  • @KleWdSide I don't think his best days as a song writer are behind him. His best is still to come. Every artist has ebbs and flows. Just when I think I've done my best work and I'll never produce another piece better I do. Sometimes it takes a little longer . There's no pattern to the creative process. You may be at a creative hig where everything you paint or write is amazing . Then nothing . All of a sudden you're creativity is back up. Depends on what happens in your life .As for this song

  • @soulofanartist I'm not denying that he can still write some great songs (the ones you pointed out & "Gypsy Biker," especially), but he's definitely not as creative as he was 30 years ago. Then again, your writing doesn't improve as you get older. And yes, he's still the best performer alive

  • @KleWdSide Will no offense to you either but I enjoyed his new music just as much as the old classics. As for not coming up with anything since "BornTo Run" and Darkness On The Edge Of Town. I believe some of his work such as "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" is just as good. "Empty Sky" "You're Missing" and yes some songs from even his last album are good , and lets face it no matter how old he gets he still puts on an amazing show.

  • @soulofanartist No offense, but you'd have to be a fool to think he gets better with age. In the last decade, he hasn't come up with anything anywhere near on par with "Born To Run" and "Darkness On The Edge of Town."

  • what an amazing song
