Is that a wooden desk RIGHT next to your stove? You need at least 36 inches. Fix it brother.

Liked it.

you can burn pine and other non hard woods BUT they don't burn well and create allot of creosote.

It looks like you have an outside air intake on your F1100. I'm putting in a new F1100 in a bonus room, and am considering an "oak." Does it come from the back or bottom of the stove, and do you like how it operates?

It's a wooden buffet. One of the many things we love most about the Regency F1100 is the heat shielding that allows us to place combustible materials within 8 inches of the stove. The buffet is about 16 inches. Thanks for your concern, though. Good catch.

That 's what I had heard too. My brother was convinced that the pine would smoke us out of our home AND foul the chimney with creosote. All I can say is that this hasn't been a problem for us. We burned pine (mixed with hardwood) all winter long, and the chimney was so clean that our chimney guy told us we don't need to call him for four more years. I will say this, though: we rarely use the damper. We burn wide open. I know using the damper can increase creosote buildup.

It comes from the bottom of the stove, and it works great. I would definitely recommend an outside air intake for this stove to improve its efficiency. You'll love it.
