knowledge comes from discourse and knowledge is power, and in our modern society, one of the main sources of discourse is through media - television. which limits our knowledge as people often do not look for other sources due to distractions and work. There are a few select people that are in charge of the information that we receive, those that run tv channels and newspapers. i feel that they don't try and educate us, they try and distract us with meaningless programs which play on our fears, in the disguise of entertainment. due to limiting our knowledge, they gain power over us, as they have the knowledge. and the people that are in control are the powerful ones and using the power of the media to control those who are not knowledgeable to this fact.
