A Buddhist mantra sung by my Japanese friend, Michiko-san (AliceNine2008). I've edited video clips from a South Korean "Buddhist" film, which tells a very tragic but instructive and moral story about a man, who must atone for his own karma. Hence, it's a story about every human's life.

My contribution is nothing but only edit this video, to bring together these parts, mantra and movie. Anyway, I am glad to present this video. I've wanted to make a Buddhist video for a long time, and this is it. I am very happy for this possibility to make collaboration with my precious friend. Thank you very much for allowing me to use your audio track , Michiko-chan. Arigato gozaimasu!

Few words about this mantra, what it means and how you can use it.

Pure Land Buddhists chant this mantra, the practice of reciting is called the "Nianfo" (in Chinese) or "Nembutsu" (in Japanese). In Chinese this mantra is "Namo Omito-Fo" or "Namo Amituofo", in Japanese, "Namu Amida Butsu". In English it would be roughly "I entrust myself to the infinite light and infinite life", or "homage to the Buddha of Boundless Compassion and Wisdom ". Pure Land is a branch of Buddhism focused on Amitābha Buddha. Amitabha is "The Buddha of Infinite Light."

You can use this mantra in a meditation or as a prayer. It is good to repeat or sing. It can also defeat your negative karma. I often use "Nembutsu" myself. For example, because my mother is very sick in these days, I repeat this mantra for her, that it could ease her pain and possibly heal her and give her more time here on earth. However you use it, may this mantra bless you and your loved ones. Since this video is so short, I recommend you to repeat it couple of times. ^_^

Best wishes,
Teisuka

  • Mr. Teiska, thank you so much for sharing this great video and very nice singing by your friend. We can all benefit from reflecting on the original teachings and learning the practice and life of Buddha. For Christians, the original teachings of Jesus and his practice is EQUALLY admirable. The world will be a better place if we follow either of the GREAT humanists. And Mr. Teiska, you are a wonderful humanist. All the best to you, John

  • @johnkiang Dear John, thank you very much for your kind comment, it made me very happy! I completely agree, what you said about the great humanists, Buddha and Jesus, and the importance of their original teachings. May they live long and prosper. All the best to you too, sir John, my humanist friend! :) Respectfully, Teisuka

  • @ToHuyenLinh Hi Pat. Thank you for the deep comment. Ah, you have also seen this film. I completely agree with you, what you said about karma. We cannot change the world... but we can change ourselves by winning our fault little by little. Well, it's not easy... hahaha! Often we make same mistakes again and again. Good luck to all of us! (^_~) Teisuka

  • Hi Teisuka, I know this Korean film, I already saw it with the televion. The history is very interesting and very instructive indeed. Though one makes, one can not overcome his karma, one can only well live to only improve his karma. I like this film. Thank for sharing,....Pat

  • @MrJamie1957 Hello, Jamie.

You're welcome, and many thanks for your kind comment. Yes, I am very happy to have a chance to make collaboration with Michiko-chan. Because I am an indescribable awful singer, I have not been able to sing duet with her... But I am going to do that anyway, not right now but some day! I haven't just found a song which is bad enough for me. Hahaha! Have a great week ahead, sir! ^_^
