David shows us how easy it is to install a fence post. Tools that help are a Ridgid manual post hole digger, Johnson level, Snap-on work gloves and a Makita Impact driver. Other items you'll need are some 2 inch screws, 2-1/2 foot lengths of scrap wood, quick-setting concrete (one bag per post) and water.
dont ever set a post like this.. wow

you put the water in the hole first then the concrete. then you mix it with a stake making sure you go down the full depth of the hole otherwise you end up with a crappy, dusty, flaky concrete block that you with have to redo in a couple of years...

A Fence Hole Post! How about a Fence Post Hole? Is the installation any different?

its all fine but the hole should be wider, at least double and half the width of the post. thin conrete around will crack easilly

@borncountry419 most likely it would. its a complete waste of time and materials. mix the concrete a bit thicker and it will hold the post plumb

I'm curious. If the post is delicate enough where it needs braces, then wouldn't the act of attaching the braces change the position of the "delicate" post?

you dont need those pussy gloves........

the problem with dry pouring is the concrete doesn't set at its full strength. Also, bracing is not necessary. The concrete will hold the post plumb if done correctly
