In it's best years, Pan Am was 'THE' airline.. And I don't live in the US.

My 1st flight was on a Pan Am 747 in 1972 from NY's JFK to San Juan, Puerto Rico. I still have the wings and a deck of playing cards that the stewardess gave me from that flight. I flew Pan Am to many destinations throughout the 70s & 80s and every time was memorable. What a classy airline they were. It is greatly missed. Thank you for posting this homage & thank you Pan American World Airways for showing me the world in style.

Then da first bombing of an american airplane-Panam flight n bankrupt.

I really love Pan Am, but have mixed feelings with this video. According to the mentioned goals, today's PAA must be Ryanair. But stating that would be the biggest insult against Pan Am, I think. Can we say, that the Ryanair story is a great thing, that began with Pan Am? I don't want to think about PAA as RYR's father anyways.

Gaddafi, you evil bastard, you destroyed this, and I'm so happy that you will soon be killed by your own countrymen.

Pan Am needs to come back! They "were" THE airline

Only socialism can save the US Airline Industry. Capitalism kills, let's kill the free market capitalist system before it destroys us all of us. What USA needs is a nationalization of all major airlines under government-ownership and worker's control of the major airlines of the country. Airlines cannot be under private hands.

i think the lockerbie disaster was 1 of the main reasons why panam went bankrupt: they pissed on elementary safety rules and allowed a bomb onboard, that was a very stupid and uprofessional thing 2 do. shame on panam!

as a child, I was flying with a panam 727 to berlin! I still have the little piece of soap with tle logo!

There are still boatloads of former Pan Amers out there who love and revere what the airline meant. I worked for Pan Am for twelve years, and you couldn't buy a better education than that. Those twelve years shaped who I am today. My dad would talk about flying for the Air Force forty years after he stopped being a jet pilot; I imagine we'll still be talking about flying for Pan Am for the next twenty or so-

@Juppie902 As noted the video was made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the airline, which was in 1977. Also the 747SPs mentioned in the video weren't available until Pan Am flew the first one in April 1976.
