Be a Hero, Hire a Hero Final Veteran's Job Expo

Hire Disability Solutions, LLC - a certified disabled owned company promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities and our Veterans into mainstream employment -- is hosting a Global Veterans' Career Expo in partnership with New York City Business Leadership Network (NYCBLN) and No Greater Sacrifice in New York City aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on November 7th, 2011. The Expo is being held as part of the "Be A Hero, Hire A Hero" initiative, which was launched by HireDS in 2010. Be A Hero, Hire A Hero is designed to provide meaningful employment opportunities for the over 1 million military Veterans currently unemployed. It is estimated that the unemployment rate among Veterans has remained disproportionately high, staggering around 13.4% - more than 4 percentage points higher than the national average - according to the latest figures released by the U.S. Department of Labor (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics).
