Circumcise Your Newborn Baby? Yes, No, Maybe, Not Sure

Since this blog, I've done a lot more research and decided to add many additional infant circumcision videos to my channel that will hopefully be helpful to you in learning about this issue beyond the misleading information that is still omnipresent in the American media.

Some additional things you should know:

The United States is the only country in the world to practice secular circumcision on the majority of its babies.

The United States only began circumcising in the late 1880s as way to punish masturbation which at the time doctors believed caused all sorts of diseases.

The foreskin has a purpose! It is there to respond to sexual stimulation and to protect the glans from abrasion( Imagine if a woman had her foreskin ie clitoral hood cut off and if her clitoris was allowed to dry out and rub on clothing. Do you think that would have a positive effect on her sexual sensitivity?)

A typical foreskin is around 40%(depends on how much is cut off, which btw varies entirely at the preference of the circumciser) of the total penile skin of which the whole underside is erogensous(If you are circumcised you can note the difference in feeling in the skin below your scar line and the skin above towards the glans).

No medical organization in the world including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics say routine infant circumcision is justifiable on medical grounds.

@LexisMommy, I'm baffled by your circumcision dilemma. In the UK, there is no such "soul-searching"! Circumcision just isn't on a parent's agenda. You'd be hard pressed to even find a urologist willing to remove healthy penile tissue from a minor in Europe (it's unethical!).

What is wrong with you American mothers! Foreskin has a function. Will you get YOUR foreskin cut? And, yes, women do have foreskin (clitoral hood & inner labia), and urogenital disease is far commoner in women than men.

I just had a baby girl 2 days ago so thankfully I don't have to deal with this issue yet. But take it from a man who has experienced both, circumcision is a completely unnecessary barbaric and draconian practice. It doesn't keep you cleaner, especially in the age of showers. Yeah, there is a difference in scent because of the lack of moisture, but I have news for you ladies - PUSSY SMELLS WORSE. Should we cut off your labia to get rid of YOUR scent? Foreskin is the most sensitive part too.

the name should be changed to forskin amputation. Modern medicine always wants to amputate stuff, cut things out which is not normal.

@psandbergnz, Everything is not good to Eat according to God...."For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: "For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer." 1 Timothy 4:4-5...You should have continued to read "For it is santified by the word of God". When did God santify meats? (Read Lev. 11:1-separate. God never said every creature was Good to Eat, because if that is the case eat a Blowfish or Rats running over the city. Ish. 66:17

Why would a parent order an infant surgery that no medical association endorses? That's a sign that parents should not do it.
