@nknasi Haha... It was such an addictive game. I used to get so many games from MacAddict disks, did you use those?
-
@Valientlink haha! same with me but I was 10. the machinegun was great for everything except clearing those close mushrooms. also that crazy mode you get into when you shoot the glowing tiedye mushroom... so many memories!

I used to play this when I was 5... I remember making it to level 64 and dying, then I broke the mouse...

I remember when I was about 8 or 9 years old and I first played this game. I thought it was perfect (especially the sound effects), and kamikaze mushrooms that burped as they threw themselves down the screen at you were just the icing on the cake.

A part of my childhood!!!!!

Oh, God, this game brings back so many good memories...

my high-score was 75k :P
Is it possible to play this on a pc?

@TheJonthe Not unless you set up an emulator. I imagine Basilisk or SheepShaver could run this version of the game (pre OS X), but I couldn't point you in any kind of productive direction other than Wikipedia, because there's the whole issue of finding a Mac boot rom, system software (though 7.5.5 may still be available from Apple's FTP... there's a reason it's free, though, lol )

Thanks again mate, love this game. By the way what OS do you use? Also you know what the most stable one is?

@MudPuppit I use 9.1 on that old machine, just because it was t he most "current" thing it could run (aside from tricking it into 9.2, but it's not worth the hassle). Personally, I think 7.6.1 was the most stable and most efficient on these older PowerMacs- buuut you don't really get any of the newer features from 8/9. 8.6 would be the best trade-off for stability and functionality.
