Von Richtofen and Brown I think is the name. It's way off historically, just go in knowing that.

He was the test pilot for the initial prototype of the DVII, and no he didnt like it. However, the design was altered, lengthened for one, and he again tested it. This time he thought it was magnificant, and the German Air Force immediately ordered production to begin primarily solely on his word.

Yes Manfred DID fly the Fokker DVII. In fact he was the test-pilot for it. He didnt like it however and therefor choose the DR1a, since he was more used to it. :)
