  • Dogbane is toxic to livestock. Which non-toxic plant would be best?

    You can use cat tail, but you wouldn't want to use it for something that is under much abuse. Cat tail is good for say, tying up a rolled up mat/blanket, or tying up a bundle of dogbane that is being brought back to make strong cordage.

    Also, you cant really make fine cordage out of cat tail, at smallest (realistically) it's going to be about 1/4" when finished.

    plant. grows well in dry as well as wet soil in Missouri.

     wish you showed the how to process of making cordage also.
