  • HI There, I have played the 96 models of the morinos. I feel they are not the same accordion really, they dont seem to sound the same as the 120 . I have not played the brand new version as of yet. I have tried the 120 bass new version which i was not really keen on. The quality is not there for me. I hope they fix this and start making accordions back in Germnany again. But i understand costs etc. Are you thinking of buying a Hohner Morino??

  • This accordion is now for sale. Full hohner MIDI and internal microphones. Please contact me for details.

  • The accordions still said "made in germany" but it just was not true. The only accordion thats of any use to the professional the "Gola" is made in Germany by Hohner. But the new ones are not the same quality or sound that the 1950's or 1960's have. Thats why they are still popular and very difficult to get a hold of

  • The M model has the best reeds in there. The N models are not as easy to play as the S model. The keyboards on the S model are superb! I have a white IVS which is superd to play. The early N models with the Ivory keys had the same reeds as the M models. They are still brilliant accordions to play. However they weigh alot more than the S and the M models do. Most of the S models were not made in Germany, thats a mith that they were. Unfortunately.

  • The new models of the morino are made in China. This one was not made there but either germany or italy under license at bugari. Not sure to be hohnest. The new ones are no where near the same quality and sound as the older morinos. Thanks for the nice comment

  • Just a quick question maybe you could help me with what are your thoughts on the hohner morino 96 bass piano accordion any advice or thoughts be great

  • @AccordionManiac I've not played the latest model of Morino, but the general consensus is that since the older craftsmen have retired, they have taken many of the legendary Hohner craftsmanship skills with them. It's a can of worms though! The M model Morino is supposed to have the best and lightest reeds, but the early N models with the ivory keys are supposed to be the easiest to play.

  • @CorkApproach I've been doing some research and you are right, Morinos are still made in Germany, however people still complain about the quality of the new Morinos?

  • @AccordionManiac I think they started making accordions there around 10 years ago, especially the cheaper end models.

As far as I'm aware though the higher end stuff like the Atlantic, Morino and definitely the Gola are still manufactured in Germany. To do otherwise would be a one way ticket to bankruptcy as the Chinese built stuff is utter trash.

  • brilliant playing and sound. out of curiosity, when did Hohner start making their parts in China? (or was it Taiwain)
