I think you missed the point. He isn't singling out a minority. He's singling out dogmatism in general. "But religious dogmatists' problem is exactly the same as the story's unbeliever: blind certainty..." The religious aspect of it was just a vessel to convey his point on blind certainty and dogmatism.
