  • I have a friend that has a very unique networking issue. He has a metal shop would like to extend the range of the wireless network (approx 150yds). However in between the house and the shop are trees, concrete patio, and other obstructions. Would this work? If not is there a better solution? I've been reading about repeaters, antennas, and other setups, but I am just looking for an economical solution.

  • Can this router access country - blocked website like netflix through VPN?

  • Yeah, DD-WRT. The US model comes with DD-WRT installed and the option to go User Friendly. The Japanese model? Well, they come with the User Friendly firmware installed. You can supposedly change that to DD-WRT. But it seems that Buffalo tech support in Japan has never been informed of such. So Buffalo Japan just says 'Huh?' and the US DD-WRT firmware won't install. Great work, Buffalo.
