I love the Persuasion novel by Jane Austen. This 07 adaptation starts out rather dreary though, so thats what i portrayed here. The end is redeeming; but i already did the video for that.

  • This is a very compelling movie, definitely not boring at any point. I dont really get this video. Its really strange.lol

  • Please read my original description with the video. Except for the end, the tone in this movie version is much sadder than the previous Persuasion with Amanda Root & Ciaran Hinds. Rupert's low mood and silence bothered me and making this vid was my therapy....because Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austen work.

  • thanx for using this song, been looking for it for a long time. love it

  • Could be right on that. Cassandra burned many of JA's letters. How exactly she felt about Tom Lefroy really isn't known. Bath must have played a part in some sadder part of her life. I know she moved there unwillingly. That was in 1805 I think. A spinster clergyman's daughter wasn't in any position to object. Still she might have been happy. FOr a time. I wish Cass hadn't burned so many of her letters....

  • No, that will be her sister Cassandra who was betrothed to a clergyman who died at sea/in another country.

Austen, if we are to believe the loosely-based biography, was taken with Tom or perhaps another Wentworth, not mentioned in her personal letters (just like how Anne keeps her love affair 8 years ago a secret from her society).

  • Some say Persuasion comes closest to Jane Austen's later life. She seems to have known a clergyman who died at sea. Sad story.

  • she definitely did have a captain wentworth - tom lefroy, as shown in the wonderful film, becoming jane.

  • sure would like to get this movie it looks really good

    beautiful song great job.

  • Hi, I studied Austen at uni. apparently, there is some evidece suggesting that she was persuaded against someone like Anne Elliot
