Kill Henry Sugar are I band I'd heard nothing about before I saw them and have heard nothing about since, which is a real pity as they were different, fun and genuinely engaging. Playing upstairs at CB2 in Cambridge on January 16th 2008 (it was absolutely freezing at the time and it took them a few songs to lose their hats and scarfs) there was something very cool about their pared down sound. Plus I can't think of any other band who would write a song about the notoriously corrupt former Democratic Party political machine in New York!
These folk rockers made a great cover of the Rolling Stone's Jumpin Jack Flash for the documentary '1968' which was hosted by Tom Brokaw. Great sound. I bought their albums 2 years ago and listen to them frequently. Long live Kill Henry Sugar.
