im on warfirin and have been for nearly a year now but was curious as i am getting pains in the leg where i had the clot, got my first clot at 17 and second at 21 now permanently on meds, please message me if anyone knows as it would be alot of piece of mind for me, also my inr is between 2 and 3 so everything else is good, go gym maybe thats what caused the pain?

  • this sneaky disease almost killed me in 2011. got a full DVT plus PE. not funny !

  • I had hard core blood thinners in my stomach to prevent this...worth it though

  • As always, you have provided an excellent learning tool here. Your advice in the video, to get up & walk around, is one of the best pieces of advice regarding this condition. The patients we have treated who were diagnosed with this, came from all walks of life, but all had "no movement for long periods of time" in common. We've treated pilots (who have long flights), passengers (on those long flights), students/employees who sit for very long periods. Get up & walk, please, when you can.

  • This is extremely informative. Being a biology student, I read a lot about DVT, but could not actually visualise the process. This video helped me understand it much better. Thank you very, very much.

  • I got this from having an allergic reaction from heparin. Went to have my gall bladder out and everything went very well there but the heparin almost killed me twice. I went to the dr. after the surgery with the breathing problems and they sent me home because they thought it was a pulled muscle in my ribs. so if you have surgery and it fells like you pulled a rib muscle please have the dr. give you an x ray. it would have kept me from almost dying twice. my feeling is better safe than sorry.
