  • Im having a heck of a time removing mine. I have a S&W MP15. I keep seeing everyone say to remove them from left to right, but looking at mine, the smaller side of the pin appears to be on the right hand side..not left. I don't know what to do. Ive already smashed my hand with a hammer..Almost threw my upper receiver across the room..then I remember its part of a $1200 gun lol.

    Any suggestions?

  • @FEARPaintball For some reason S&W has gone with reversed taper pins. I think it was a screw up. In any event hammer them out from the small side of the pin. Use kroil or some type of penetrating oil, put the weapon on a hard or concrete surface and use sharp blows with a large hammer and over sized punch. If worse comes to worse you could heat up the base.

  • What brand FSB is that? I like it because it has a QD on it. What do you think of the QD vs traditional sling loop attachment on an FSB?

  • @chillywit

This was another persons rifle. The QD is made by GG&G that fits on a standard FSB. I like QD attachments but I do not like this option mounted on the FSB.

Glad you got it to break free! Sometimes a large breaker bar or a good hammer helps!

  • @FEARPaintball

Finally got it. I had to put the wrench in place and the smack it a few times with a hammer. Finally broke free.

  • @ssdsurf

Thanks! I finally got them out. Now Im stuck on the stupid barrel nut. Im wrenching the heck of of the thing and it won't turn. Im doing it counter clockwise like every where I've looked says..But is it opposite too?

  • good video. And good 80's music lol.

  • look on both sides of the FSB.. you will notice that one side has smaller tapered holes and one side slightly larger, punch from the small side out the larger side, trying to go the other way will NOT work or it will and you'll then have a damaged FSB

  • I even posted my 1st YouTube vids with my 3-gun weapons under MrBlister1972. ;)
