219. Down in the Valley (Traditional American)

There are a number of versions of this traditional folk song, two good well-known variations being Birmingham Jail, and Connemara Cradle Song. I have had a request to do the original, so I hope this is the right one. There is a shorter version that is widely sung, but this is the one used by the Scouts and Guides for campfire singalongs.
