Anwar Masood is a Pakistani poet well known for his comic poetry, however, his work includes other genres as well. Professor Anwar Masood is a multilingual poet who writes in Punjabi, Urdu and Persian. He is a teacher of the Persian language, and a poet of Urdu and Punjabi. Most popular for his Punjabi poetry, Masood's work conveys the original and pure culture of Punjab. Anwar Masood was born on November 8, 1935 in the city of Gujrat(Pakistan), his family migrated to Lahore in 1941 where he started his basic education. In an interview with VOA Mr. Anwar Masood discussed his life, poetry and the current situation of Urdu literature.
