Likewise, Hamas doesn't represent the entire Palestinian people, so your point is moot at best. Like it or not, the PA is the official governing body of the Palestinian people. As for where Hamas governs (Gaza), there are no longer any settlements.

If you say that Israel is divided only by external politics, then you know very little about Israeli politics. The question is...do you really want me to lecture you on the schism between the chilonim and the haredim? And that's just the beginning.

Ha! Israel is anything but "unified." But that's a matter of internal politics. Let's keep this focused on Israel-Palestine. Hamas might have not acknowledged settlement blocs, but Israel signed agreements (or was in the process of signing agreements) with the Palestinian Authority, which still (tentatively) runs the West Bank, which is what we're talking about. Hamas was elected in Gaza.
