The song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" by blues/folk guitarist Lead Belly (a.k.a. Leadbelly).
An old traditional American folk song performed by many artists under the titles "In the Pines," "Black Girl," and, arguably, most famously, this version was covered by Nirvana during their MTV Unplugged concert under the title "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?"

How can he massacare a version of his own song recorded many years after his dead. Look this is the original it's a different kinda song that Nirvana's Cover but Nirvana did HIS song, not the other way around.
BTW. I also like Nirvana's version but it is totally different. Maybe it's time you expanded your musical horizons to appreciate other types of music.
@stoyannn When you say he "massacred" it you deserved any criticism you got. Nirvana turned it into something else. This is Folk Blues not Grunge. Since Leadbelly wrote it and performed it first it would be more appropriate to say Nirvana massacred it. Yes it is your opinion as to which you like better but the tone of your post was uncalled for and quite frankly display's a lot of ignorance on your part.
It's a folk song, he arranged it or whatever you call it. All I'm saying is I like the Nirvana version better. Matter of taste, let's not start a flame war here. Cheers ;-)
