Negative Pressure Supercharging which is the same as Vacuum Supercharging makes the 62 360ci Dodge accelerate from 0-100kph (62mph) in 5sec like a race car but run smooth like a modern family car with better fuel mileage and much lower emissions.

Keep in mind the 62 Dodge is a heavy vehicle, uses a 3 speed gearbox with a 1st gear ratio equal to the 2nd gear of 5-6 speed gearboxes, 2000 stall, 3.2 diff, short runner intake and gets 25mpg with carburetion.

Therefore, by adding a 4-6 speed gearbox, lower diff gears (3.9-4.1) and long runner intake with NPS the 360 Dodge will accelerate even faster from 0-100kph (62mph) in 3-4sec and get 30mpg with carburetion or 35mpg with fuel injection.

Acceleration and fuel mileage can be improved even further! By adding the NPS 360 and above performance gear to a lighter vehicle it will accelerate even faster again from 0-100kph (62mph) in 2-3sec and further increase fuel mileage to 33-38mpg.

This is much faster acceleration and 50-100% better fuel mileage than today's high rpm horsepower engines that use fuel injection and the above performance gear.

Note the 360 was idling at 500rpm when we floored it but in the 5sec 0-100kph video we floored it after 1sec to prevent wheel spin.

  • thanks demios99 ...you got it right!! ...but as you can appreciate todays 4cyl is a lot more mech complex and therefore they need more mods and cost more to modify them ...you can thank the confused politics of car makers for this cause the lil 4cyl can be made just as efficient using the pushrod hemi design with 2 valves per cyl as demonstrated by the new chrysler hemi V8.

  • were did you buy the supercharger from? cuz i have a 360 im building for my 83 ram and i cant find em anywhere.

  • @Heartl3sSoldier contact our US distributor Fultz Automotive in TN. they have the vacuum supercharging system running in their 73 360 dodge dart. their contact details are under "news flash" on our home page.

  • hey dopy kramrollin69 ...the 0-100kph video clearly shows our 360 dart does it in 5sec whereas a stock 440 charger does it slower in 6.5sec. the mind boggles how anyone can be so DUMB to think a slower car produces more torque ...durrr!! if your gonna be such a dumbass about this ...run your 440 charger next to our 360 dart and youll eat my dust to 100kph. well do a video with the title "vacuum supercharging blows away dopy charger boy" ...if your chicken you lose!! :)

  • thanks pwizard665!! ...sorry its not for sale. one day we plan to drop a 392 hemi in the dodge with vacuum supercharging and twin under hood blowers. the hemi will still idle smooth and get good fuel mileage like the 360 but pump out over 1200 lbs/ft of torque from idle and about 900hp at 4500rpm. the huge torque should get the dodge airborne with street slicks and freak out todays wonder cars.

  • youre wrong dopy!! ...a stock 69 440 dodge charger produces 480 lbs/ft and 0-60mph in 6.5sec. our 62 360 dodge dart has the same weight, gears and stall as a stock 69 440 charger but goes 0-60 in 5sec. that my friend needs a lot more torque than 480 lbs/ft to go 1.5sec faster than a stock 440 charger. by the way if you use the same sticky 12" tyres and LSD on your charger itll have much less wheel spin.

  • @360TorqueMonster

can this technology be used on vehicles with forced induction? If so, what would be worth it? (I'm thinking of turbo diesels)

  • from what i saw if you work the preload on the right rear i bet youd pull a tire off the ground..nice work.

  • I love your car! My father and I are restoring one just like it. It's a 62' four door in white with 318. We hope to make it as nice as yours. Your video is inspiring to me. Thanks for posting!

  • would love to see some dyno results of this technology.

  • Sorry "Mr Dopy" phoenix boy.

You have NO Idea of torque and holding a hand held stopwatch to get your times is way off. You Have NO WHERE NEAR 600ftlbs of torque. And yes, my stock 440 also had 3.23 suregrip, 10" stickys, and HEAPS more torque than your little effort shows. Too bad, you loose. Nice try tho. :).

  • It would be a nice thing to take a small 4cyl city engine and mod it like this :D

Double cam (for ease of adjustment), 16 valve, with custom exhaust, 5deg colder plugs, LPG (105 octane - so I don't have to reduce CR), spark boosters, stronger distr.springs, el.water pump (no termostat), el.controled hot air intake. Did I get it all right ?

You could also use a small HHO generator to make ignition even more accurate and flame spread faster.

Excellent web page, by the way. 5*
