Manson High School Vo-AG Hosted AG Mechanic Contest 2009

Team and individual welding competitions were at their best at Manson High School as area VO-AG members gathered on February 19th 2009 to compete at Manson High School, Manson, WA. The teams constructed, by hand truly amazing branding irons. Teams competing in the contest were students from Manson, Cashmere, Okanogan, Bridgeport, Cascade, Chelan, Wenatchee and Tonasket. The final Manson results were recently submitted by adviser, Kevin Amsden as follows: in the individual scoring Devon Griffith of Manson took first place with a score of 134 out of 150 points possible. He scored 49 out of 50 on his cut, along with a 40 on his multi pass fillet weld followed by 45 out of 50 on his fillet weld.
