"The Price of Love" : Jasmine/Yum-Yum (feat. Aladdin, Hades, Eris, & Others)

This is my entry for the Non/Disney Slash/Femmeslash contest! My first ever femmeslash vid - GASP EGAD. I had a lot of fun making this video, and I really hope you guys enjoy watching it. Let me know what you think!

PLOT: Two kingdoms have been at war with one another for centuries, to the absolute delight of Eris, the goddess of chaos, discord and destruction. She is visited by the Fates, who inform her that this war will soon end thanks to the political marriage of Aladdin, prince of one kingdom, and Jasmine, the princess of the other. Their arranged union will stop the war, join the kingdoms, and leave the country in an era of peace.

Eris is furious about this development and is confronted by Hades, the ambitious god of the underworld and her longtime on-off-lover/rival. He tells her that he can stop this union from occurring AND guarantee that the two kingdoms will forever stay locked in battle with one another. In exchange, he wants Eris to hand over her sister (Kida, the goddess of light) to Hades. Eris begrudgingly agrees, giving him her word that she will follow through on her end of the bargain.

Hades instructs his minion, Chel, to slip a love potion to Aladdin's sister, the young and beautiful Princess Yum-Yum, for whom she is handmaiden. This potion will cause Yum-Yum to fall in love with Jasmine and cause Jasmine to see Yum-Yum in a new light, which it does. Chel orchestrates a meeting between Jasmine and Yum-Yum, and the two bond instantly. Over time they begin to fall in love.

Eris is frustrated by the fact that the marriage is still on and goes to Hades to complain. He calms her down and informs her of the budding love between Jasmine and Yum-Yum and the growing resentment Jasmine has for Aladdin through visions of Aladdin and Jasmine arguing and Yum-Yum vehemently defending Jasmine to her brother when he vents to her about his fiance's unwillingness to accept him. Eris is satisfied by this and allows the plan to continue.

When Yum-Yum finally informs Jasmine of her feelings for her, Hades himself informs Aladdin of the betrayal. Though Aladdin first insists this couldn't be true, he follows Hades's advice and discovers his sister and future bride together. In a fit of rage, Aladdin kills both women.

To finish the job, Eris takes on the shape of Sinbad, one of the guards working for Aladdin and Yum-Yum's family. Eris tells Jasmine's father what has happened, portraying the act as ruthless violence and sadistic instability on Aladdin's part and making no indication that Jasmine and Yum-Yum were in a relationship at all. Chel, meanwhile, tells Aladdin's father that Jasmine had brain-washed Yum-Yum and that they had tried to murder Aladdin, who had been forced to kill them.

Aladdin, who had been in Jasmine's castle at the time, is imprisoned and executed by Jasmine's father. The kingdoms inevitably destroy one another, and Hades comes to collect from Eris on their bargain. Though initially she tries to resist, Hades reminds her that the word of a deity is binding, and Eris reluctantly hands over her sister. Hades imprisons Kida forever, using her powers over light (and therefore, darkness) to take over, covering the world in eternal darkness.

IKR?! I love Yum-Yum. "The Thief & The Cobbler" is one of my favorite animated movies ever, although I only rewatched it just a few months ago after I read about all the history on its background...this movie has been through a hell of a lot. But I thought she'd be a perfect fit for Jasmine.

@smilefumble Well, the surreal part I understand, but I didn't mind the unfinished animations. They proceeded to tell the story as it was meant to be told, so I don't really have a problem with them. I will admit though, the ending rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, it's triumphant and all, but seeing all those one-eye thugs gets killed so brutally left kind of a sour taste to the end. Other than that though, the Thief stole the show (literally and figuratively speaking, lol).

@Razshagaul I actually did watch the Recobbled Cut a few months ago. It was a very well done film in my opinion. The only two things I didn't like about it were that some scenes were hard to watch as they were so surreal and some scenes were unfinished.

@smilefumble Well, if you do see The Thief and the Cobbler (or have seen it already), you should also check out The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut on Youtube (I don't think it has a DVD or VHS release of its own.) I think that the Recobbled Cut is a lot better than the Miramax version, but I don't hate the Miramax one. I just think it's better without the annoying inner monologue, lol. That and it give the witch in the desert more screen-time, which is absolutely hilarious!
