  • How it's possible for the original version to look crisper than the updated re-release is astounding.

  • I made a promise to myself a long time ago that if I had all of J.K Rowling's money, rather than mope about the place being a fucking miserable bitch all the time I'd get a cyborg body.

  • @MrDeathRebirth It's like saying the existence of the Zion dance scene in the second movie, which is a scene most people found unnecessary and unnecessarily too long, depended on if they used the Invisibles as a template or not. That's just an example of a flaw in the sequels that has nothing to do with their sources of inspiration.

  • @MrDeathRebirth Entire sequences from Ectokid nevertheless resemble scenes from the Matrix movies that were filmed years later. The sequels were thematically more complex than the first film, so that wasn't the problem. The actual writing, editing etc suffered, but they wouldn't become magically better by using the Invisibles as a template. The ideas of the sequels were still strong. There are dozens of successful stories to "rip off", it's foolish to suggest they depended on it.

  • @d00m3d2009 Ectokid was based on the creations of Clive Barker though who made the outline premise and main characters.

"In the end, I was glad they got the ideas out but very disappointed that they blew it so badly and distorted all the Gnostic transcendental aspects that made the first film so strong and potent. If they had any sense, they would have befriended me instead of pissing me off. They seem like nice boys." Grant Morrison on the issue.

  • @MrDeathRebirth They didn't rip off anything from anyone. They used a lot of anime, manga, comics for inspiration, because they love them so much. Morrison says the Invisibles comic was on set, but Simulacra&Simulation was also given to the crew and the cast was REQUIRED to read it. GitS was shown to the producer and they told him "we want to make this, but into a live action movie". Also search for their own comic book "Ectokid", it resembles the Matrix movies in a lot of ways.

  • @d00m3d2009 You guys should read The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. That's what the Wachowski ripped The Matrix off from actually, LOL.

They even used the comic as a shot reference when they filmed it to the point where whole scenes were ripped. After the first film some people called them out on it and that's when they started to change it to avoid a law suit but it also led to the not as good sequels. The Invinsibles is leaps and bounds better than The Matrix as well.

  • So all 2.0 is less detail and more ambient lighting nonsense?

  • @poikilotherm1 actual it was black woman who writen the Matrix they just stole it

  • @4zion4life

    Try Darker than Black.
