Ok all who commented is insane. Ok first of all i was there. They are celebrating when god comes and crushes baghdad. Its not celebrating the destruction of Isreal its celebrating the destruction of baghdad.

According to John Hagee's own "Prophecy Study Bible", verses 1-11 of the second chapter of Joel 2 concern the coming invasion and "desolation" of Israel. Those scriptural passages provide the text for the song "Blow The Trumpet In Zion". That's the song Hagee's church members so joyously sing at CUFI events - the song concerns their expectation that Israel will be invaded and "desolated".

I didn't write Hagee's "Prophecy Study Bible" - John Hagee did. I'll take him at his word.

"Blow the Trumpet in Zion" sounds a warning for Israel of the coming invasion of it's enemies, but you didn't read the whole prophecy. The Messiah comes and rescues Israel before it's complete destruction. There is no TRUE christian alive today who wants anything but a triumphant and peaceful Israel with an undivided Jerusalem as it's capitol! Read more of Joel, etc. It will clarify this for you. no i definitely have

i can't rationalize the horrible stories in it

such as Jephthah burning his daughter in the name of God after he was helped in battle by him

or the stoning of raped women from Deuteronomy

and i know you'll try to rationalize it with the New Testament

that would be cherry picking

I understand you're just trying to do what you think is right in trying to tell me about the bible but i honestly can not bring myself to believe in irrational stories, especially horrific ones

This is not religion. The word of God is very different.

This is the history of the world, it is the basis of all politics, environmental causes,economics,math,everythi­ng is based on gods laws and the ways he set this world to operate.

If your not following his laws you are following the religion of the devil. Im sure you don't want to hear that and don't understand that but you should read the full bible old and new testaments for your self and then decide what you believe.
