Had a comment from the product review video for this light about how well it would do as an uplight. Here is the original review video:

  • Thanks for the video...I appreciate it.

But I have yet another question. At the end of the light where it hits the ceiling it looks like it turns white. In my application I was thinking about using them as downlighting from a 15 foot ceiling. The light would hit an 8" drink rail about 10 feet down.

Do you think the drink rail would be washed in white light, or the colored light?

Awesome review, thanks for taking the time to do it for me!

  • @vjjustinallen If I am understanding you correctly, you feel that the light as it hits the ceiling is more white? My walls are painted a tan and the ceiling is white. Perhaps this is what you saw? I think that the drink rail would be washed in any color that you like. Hope this helps.

  • I need to still edit my video of these lights. Sold my Colorstrips for them and love them!

  • @RRollergod I have been enjoying them also.

  • @DJOmega80

Thanks again for all your help. Ordered 10 of these. I'll post a video in a few weeks once everything gets installed.

  • Very nice, just ashame that we can't get them here in the UK.

  • @ledlightboy - Also, we overcome the striping effect through placement and angle, but if you need seamless color mixing I would highly recommend the Colorstorm 252 by Blizzard. The fixture is still split into zones, but the color LED's are interdispersed, so colors are perfectly accurate at all distances (excellent for uplighting against a wall or downlighting a backgrop, etc) . As I mentioned, either style have been far superior to other brands we've used regarding smooth, flicker-free dimming.

  • @ledlightboy - We use several styles of LED "Bars" in our productions, including Stormchasers and Colorstorms, as to flickering we have never had any issues with the Blizzard fixtures, the colors come on smoothly and stay that way throughout the range of intensity. As to color mixing, I'm not sure what you mean exactly but regarding the layout of the Stormchasers' LED's in single-color groups, you will get a small amount of "striping" (meaning purple will show red and blue striping) close range

  • hey man i have a question because i have 2 american dj mega pixels

do you think that because the leds are not mixed in as well as other bar lights on these 2 lights that it hurts the colormixing of the stormchaser like it does the mega pixel like is it smooth in person when doing uplighting on a wall and does it flicker much?
