  • Genki was such an amazing grappler. K-1 wasted him by putting him in all those kickboxing fights.

  • 360p is too much for my pc :(

  • WOAAAAA!! clap clap clap

  • like 2 gays

  • Only Genki can dance to Prince while hitting Flying Trangles and Reverse Heelhooks.

  • hes just a kool dude

    i dig artists

he lives life like its art, most people dont even come close

  • -maximal twisting required to "completely destroy knee"

-twisting required to lock up and finish heekhook, twist toward heel to lock up, then twist back to finish.

-doesnt matter how they train at your gym

-the 2nd half of you comment is old news to everyone

  • I should rephrase this and say I'm 99% sure the second finish was also a reverse heelhook. At the time, Genki was doing a lot of inside heelhooks, and from the angle it is hard to tell exactly what he did, but the whistle blew right as he was locking up the heel, I believe. I guess he could have been going for a footlock, but I doubt it due to his affinity for the heelhook at this time.

  • Hell yea! If they weren't rolling light, Genki would definately have finished the second flying triangle and probably the flying armlock at the end. Matter of fact, he probably would have taken the RNC early on. Genki is one of my top 5 favorite grapplers just because of his flare and style. Often imitated, never duplicated! Only Genki can dance during an MMA fight or grappling match and have it blend into his techniques and make them smoother.

  • He didn't twist or troque because almost any twisting at all from the reverse heelhook position will completely destroy someone's knee. Genki is simply locking up the submission and basically calling checkmate. That's how we train at my gym too. If someone locks in a deep heelhook, it's agreed upon that the roll is over. There's no twisting, unless it's in a competition. There is no pain from a heelhook until it's too late. They're so dangerous.

  • Yes, they were both reverse/inside heelhooks. Genki only did reverse heelhooks here. Look up "Ryan Hall 50/50" to see 3 previews of his DVD on the 50/50 guard which is the best position to finish the reverse heelhook, which is infinitely more powerful and dangerous than the regular heelhook. Ryan's DVD set is amazing!
