This is a beautiful video! I love his little hand patting you while you are both so sweetly snuggled nursing! My daughter is 3 months old and I hope to breastfeed her until she weans herself, and this movie really made me smile! Congrats on giving your son such an amazing start to life!

Is that sarcasm? I'm neither. That was info for anyone who believes in breast feeding a child for a long time. You can just as well stop breast feeding at 6 months, and a baby will be fine too. But drinking breast milk, or eating foods with the same properties as breast milk is still good for a child beyond that age, And obviously others must think so since they have a new type of drink out for toddlers similar to breast milk. personally I wouldn't breastfeed past a year.

Why would I look up a organization probably not based on good science??? Thats not info thats is bullshiht and next time you right something be a little more clear about it. @beautyquenn101 "Breast feeding at 17 years old is disgusting and wrong." ---> Where did you comprehend that I was breast feeding my 17 yr old child in my post? Children normally self-wean between the ages of 2 and 7, when they cut their milk teeth. Few breast feed beyond that, and there have been studies of those at 10 still breast feeding. Try not to jump to conclusions as you seem to be, here. I think you need to, first, gather all important information. Again, LLLi~great organization.

Obviously you don't understand the brain development of a child. You may think it doesn't equate to them running your household yet in the long run it will. Also being smart and being a brat two different things, this lets me know that you are one of those parents who probably has horrible children and thinks its ok because "intellectually they are above others".

@beautyquenn101 WAHM: acronym for Work At Home Mom. My husband and I have businesses, not physically at home all the time. We're just not on anyone's payroll. Don't normally follow the advice of doctors, but our own research and choices. I disagree with the use of the breast pump; much experience forms this decision. Our children breast feeding does not equate that they run our household. All are well beyond advanced emotionally/cognitively for their ages. Research LLLi's material. Take care.

I haven't seen any modern doctors who believe in self weaning after age two. It is terrible on your breast, breast pumping is just as good, and not every woman wants to be a stay at home mom forever. Breast feeding at 17 years old is disgusting and wrong. Children need to be taught you are in control not them. This is why we have horrible little brats for children. Its your body your decision not your child's.
