This type of prayer is called "Doaa" in arabic which means:- Direct words from a person to God, these words maybe asking God forgiveness or thanking him for whatever he gives.
Muslims belive that Doaa is a very special kind of worship as there is no intermediate between a person & the God. Also we belive that Doaa will be responded by God but shouldn't be an immediate response.
This belive let us always in a contact with God OR we should be like that.

Cool video, I like the sound of his song. When did you go there? I was there in October of 2008. He looks and sounds like the same guy I got in my video that I put up this week of my visit to this mosque (it also shows the Hanging Church & Muhammad Ali mosque). It's the one called "Egypt (Churches/Holy Places)", check it out & see if you think it's the same guy singing.
