Please read the FAQ on my channel before asking questions! Thanks.

I'm not making a full film of this. This film is a trailer based on origin of the Star Wars Expanded universe character Darth Bane. Though I'm not actually making the full movie, I learned a lot while making this trailer! This video is available in higher resolutions here: http://www.smeagol.110mb.com/bots.htm

If you like this video, you may be interested in the making-of:

While this video is based on the events of Star Wars Expanded Universe sources and I have tried not to contradict them, there are also some events in this trailer which do not take place in any of the Expanded Universe novels.

And because people have asked about this many, many, many times in the comments -- Malak, in the trailer, isn't a part of the holocron, but a ghost, who appears shortly after Bane activates the holocron. I'm aware that Revan had a holocron and Bane learned from it. We just don't see Revan's image in the trailer.

Enjoy!

  • @smeagolstudios cool! I currently have Carrara 5 Standard. I'd like to know how you did the terrain exactly (I already looked on your website, all it says is that it's a filter in Carrara or something). I experimented with making the terrain map pixelated and added a tiled stud pattern in Photoshop Elements, but it looked terrible. Did you do anything different?

  • @dudepersonvids Most likely I did, though what you've described sounds about right. I worked with a high resolution map, also it's important to make sure that smoothing is not enabled on the terrain.

  • That was amazing! I haven't seen much use of LEGO CGI in brickfilms before. Did you do this with Carrara?

  • @dudepersonvids Yeah the 3d work was done in Carrara.
