The only difference between pigs and dogs is the way we treat them. On factory farms, mother pigs spend their days and nights on the cold concrete floors of tiny metal boxes called "gestation crates" (or "farrowing crates"). The crates are so small that the pigs can't even turn around—but they spend most of their lives in there.

Pigs also have their tails cut off and their teeth ripped out, and they're castrated—all without any painkillers. It's wrong to do these things to dogs, and it's wrong to do them to pigs.
Think about it: If pigs said "woof"—would we treat them like this?

Pigs are the smartest animals on the planet besides primates. They're as smart as 3-year-old children, and pigs can suffer and feel pain just as we can. It isn't fair for them to live out their lives on factory farms, where they are denied everything that is natural and important to them—like rolling in mud, playing with their families, and basking in the warmth of the sun.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I am strongly opposed to eating pigs because they are such highly intelligent and emotional creatures. I believe in humane habitation, treatment and ethical killing of all animals-the way animals are treated in these corporate factory farms is DISGUSTING. There needs to be strict laws lobbied for ethical treatment.
