@MrAwells08 I'm going to be attending college for the same degree in the fall. I'm from North Dakota. I'm wondering how much work the job is. Also, how are the job opportunities looking? Thank you for your help.
Im an operator at an aep ohio coal fired plant and I only have an associates degree in powerplant technology from youngstown state university and Im bringing in around 103,000 a year
You are correct, sir. Also there is an aging workforce issue. This industry needs to hire young people but it is difficult to find qualified young people who want to do this kind of work.
yea. this plant control room is very similar to plant used in chinesse syndrome. Only difference is other warning sounds, and other font at the monitor :PP
This video is WRONG about loss of jobs from deregulation. The small decline in positions is more than offset by the number of new employees to replace retiring workers. Demand is higher than it has been in years, and many of large utilities are hiring hundreds of new operators.
