I don't think you understand what is love. It is not a choice, it is more like a genetic code encrypted, that is stimulated by hormones and pheromones. I think you missed the point of the video. He's not saying religious objections to gay marriage are wrong, he's saying religious objections to gay marriage can't be used as legal arguments against gay marriage. You can believe whatever you want, but you can't make the law conform to those beliefs, is basically his point.

I'm Irish and I find that having a government that tip-toe around controversial topics die to religion is infuriating as a young person. Currently, my government are trying to make a legislation with regards to abortion due to the death of an Indian woman who could have lived in her child was aborted on time. Although, we can learn a lot from religion like "Love thy neighbour" and such, many religious texts are hundreds of years old and can't possibly apply to all modern laws.

I'm 18 years old and I find that many people my age feel very strongly that gay marriage should be allowed. I like to think that by making our opinions heard that we are showing people, like John has said in another video, that teenagers are not intellectually disengaged. I think it is our generation that are more willing to fight for this right, despite what sexuality one might be.

Thank you for bringing up intersex people! It really burns me when people completely dismiss them when referring to "one man" and "one woman." Since there are about 7 billion people on the planet right now, that means there are approximately 35 MILLION intersex people, and they have every right that anyone else has to love, be loved, and make commitments.

It is your right to live your life according to your personal moral code. But there are huge issues with trying to create legislation based solely on that personal code, which is inherently a private matter.

But none of the passages you've sited provide any solid reason to make legal marriage reflect your beliefs. Are you saying that only people who desire to be Christian leaders can get married? And biblically speaking, sodomy is sexual immorality. So does that mean that husbands and wives who engage in anal sex should have their legal union dissolved? Taking your argument further, the logical conclusion is that sex outside of marriage should be illegal, period. What punishment would you suggest?

Actually, the video is about why the religious definition of marriage (which is itself ambiguous) is NOT a good thing on which to base the legal definition of marriage. So far, I haven't seen any solid rebuttals to any of the claims that he makes in the video. Regardless of what you believe, using your religious beliefs to dictate what legal rights someone should have goes against everything our nation was founded on.

Suspect that the real reason that there is so much fuss over gay marriage really has nothing to do with religion, though many hide behind it..

Can't see how many feel so threatened by it.. If one is married and happy with their choice seems that should be happy for another who has found someone to love.. Now I happen to be married to a Woman because I want to be, however am not going to disrespect others who wish to be married to someone of their own sex. Wish all could just get along!
