Baby Grey Eating

Brian my african grey parrot at 5 and a half months old getting his treat of carrot and potato baby food. this was near the end of feeding so he was getting full, he doesn't half go for it at first though!

oooh i have some of that mix.. brian likes to have some for breakfast, then pellets all day then fruits and veggies at dinner and tea time. he hasnt had a chicken bone yet.. im scared it will shard and he'll choke! lol over protective mum eh? i will try though. im going to watch your videos now i have some time.

yes. not hot, just cool/warm. if it is too hot it will burn their crop, so be careful. in this video brian is eating organic baby food from a jar which you can get from any supermarket, always double check the label. they can also have porridge made with water or any lactose free milk (rice milk, oat milk etc) they are lactose intolerrant, and some studies suggest soya is not good for them either. you could always mash your own veggies too. hope this helps :)

Parrots can (and do) eat just about anything we eat in moderation. The only total no no's are chocolate n avacado - totally poisonous to them. Other than tht they are pretty like us. Mine love spaghetti bolognaise, chips, sunday dinner n basically anything they can get hold of lol. As long as they are getting their fresh fruit n veg daily aswel as their seed then the odd treat doesnt harm them. We frequently end up with a parrot sat in middle of our dinner plate lol! Bet Brian does tht too! lol

yep brian gets little bits of whatever we have he LOVES macdonalds fries. only one little bit through theyre too salty. he tends not to climb on my plate, he likes to steal my fork or spoon as im putting it to my mouth though LOL. do you feed just seeds, or do you use a balanced pellet? brian has harrisons pellets i heard good things about them and he loves them

i use an organic baby food from a jar that i buy from an ordinary supermarket. i double check the ingredients to make sure theres nothing they cant have. if you make sure it's good nutirtious stuff theres no reason you couldn't feed it every night i suppose it might be warming and comforting before bed. just make sure the bird doesnt become dependant on warm spoonfed food and will still eat it's normal food.

Have u tried giving Brian a chicken leg bone yet? They love them....apparently the bone marrow in the middle is really good for them. Casper n Charlie love them n ur left with shredded up mess after they have eaten one...Wilf will have it occasionally but he is alot more choosy than the Greys about wht he will eat...but he will be ur best friend for life if u giv him half a digestive biscuit or a crisp lol.

The seed is called "Fab" Parrot feast with fruit. Its a sack we buy from a good pet shop locally. Costs about £22 I think...tht lasts us about 6-8 weeks having 3 parrots lol. They all adore sunflower seeds so we tend to add a small bag of those to the sack because there arent many of them in it....but they arnt meant to have many of those are they cos there very fatty apparently.

My daughters bf Zak came round for sunday dinner for the 1st time months ago n Casper went n stood right in the middle of his roast chicken dinner, ate some of his mash...then walked gravy up his arm n sat on his shoulder wiping mash all over him....so embarassing! I went ooo meet Casper lol....he is used to it now thankfully lol

ours all have a mixed seed..has loads of nuts n seeds n fruits in it...cnt think of the brand off hand but will let u know. Wilf loves the dried peppers.....so does Casper....but how they eat them I dont kno cos if Casper kisses u afte eating one ya lips are on fire lol. My boys all love potato in any form...especially chips n Mash. lol
