Start with the easy stuff. Vote for governments that have better environmental policies. Be a concerned consumer, buy local. Drive less frequently (I hate driving unnecessarily especially). Turn lights off. I don't think that structurally the world is in that bad shape, just we need to become self-aware as a species and make the tough decisions.

I was watching some videos of the lunateers while writing a song and this started playing.
my sentiments exactly, the problem with me is that I don't know where to start. at least you're expressing your concern. I always say I care and do nothing, it's a bad habit I need to break...thought of any ways to save the world yet? cuz i've tried writing songs about it but there are only about two people who hear that right now, so i'm pretty much not helping at all.
