  • Actually, the last show of the Beatles was in 1965...

  • You stfu you little weasel.

  • stfu

  • Absolutely, very hard to come close to the worlds greatest band that ever lived (as far as a lot of people see it) The Beatles but the Stones came as close as any band could have (Brit-wise). They were/are that good but time has not been kind and Keith is now a well kept (looking) grave. LOL.

  • thebirdy: yeah, look at the youtube stats. beatles ended at their creative height in 1970. their last show was like 1968 or so. and they get over 160K hits. 'rolling stones' gets about 60K (not bad! but...it ain't beatles count) you know?! the more mick and keith keep the charade up, the more diluted the stones brand will be.

but i understand... i miss them too. it's the greatest rocknroll band, isn't it? it's the reason i play guitar or try to. :)

  • Well said. It's sad but true about the fellas but I suppose when it's so much fun to crawl around with all that adulation and then have nothing to show for it when you're not touring it must be like rusting or something. Oh well, if it were me I'd be happy just to do recording.

  • thebirdy: yeah, but when you say "newer" mat'l you're talking from the beginning of the 80s. that's nearly 30 yrs of shit. it's a bit odd that i'm criticising my fave band of all times, but let's be honest here. these guys haven't written a good song in 30 yrs. none of it is on par with routine stones of 1964-1981.

yeah, look, it pains me to say it, but keith is done. his fingers are like claws. he can't play anymore, not a chord. that's the truth. painful but sad, yes.

  • I agree but I don't think they are SO bad as you say. Sure their newer material is not as good but how can you compete with yourself when you set the bar so high? I think they are just fine as a remembrance to see them live, at least that much.

    Thanks

    Jbirdy
