The final moments of regular programming on WCTV. A classic test pattern and DTV info crawl will run for another 12 hours before sign off. Alot of people are going to be disappointed to wake up to their televisions not working.
Ending just as it began this is the mostly correct test patterern WCTV didnt have a TK-1 when it signed on in 1955.

  • 2:13 Goodbye, analog TV! This classic black and white (or color for others) it looks like a CD or DVD disc in printed side and on the hole "6" is just writing on paper

  • @jason24568 Thats the old standard resolution test slide. They all pretty well looked that way used by stations too cheap to buy a TK-1. It was scanned in from an original slide and digitaly modified for WCTV.

  • wasn't the analog shutdown illegal since non of the public voted for it

  • @laurdy Just like barry bama shoving the healthcare reform no body wanted down our throats you voted for congress, congress passed it the fcc put it in the license renewal terms so live with it.

  • I Quit watching TV 3 weeks ago...if it's not on the Net, I'm not going to see it....loved the view off the racks, how about a series of training uploads?

30470 here, been out of action for 20 years...Thx.

  • I dont own a TV. Have a nice LG LCD sitting above my desk at work only pay mind to it if it goes black or quits making noise.

TX video should be coming soon of the actual sign off. Parts of the transmitter will live on in amateur service.

  • @Hekynn

It had nothing to do with if the TV's screen technology is LCD or not (not even all LCD TVs are digital).

  • All that analog transmitting gear, probably up on either Craigslist or Ebay now.

  • I have a satellite dish, so the demise of analog TV in the States didn't shed many tears from me and the rest of my extended family. In Canada, analog stations will sign off for the last time in 2011 - and, again, that's no big loss to me, considering that I pay $80 a month for satellite. (Ouch!)

  • Over here in England we still have analog tv...for 3 more years. When its gone I will quit watching, since I can get everything I need online these days.

  • It's June... where are my RFID tags?

  • Hey sucks to be the people that has not bought a LCD Tv or a Digital converter box and I'm glad i have cox cable for all 3 Tv Net and Phone Cox Cable RULES!!
