I made a cardboard riot shield a few months ago so I decided to make a video of it. I know, its not the best quality but its a video! The shield is a little small but I don't really care. Still a pretty nice replica don't you think?

~Tutorial~

Materials:

Two cardboard rectangles the same size
Plastic Sheet (I used the plastic that bed sets come in)
Spray Paint (Optional)
Two empty toilet paper rolls
Duct tape (Optional but makes it look nicer and makes for a more comfortable grip. More sturdy)
Glue (I used wood glue, worked fine)
Scissors and/or X-Acto knife

1.) Take two Cardboard rectangles the same size (doesn't matter what size as long as they're the same size.) Cut out a small rectangle near the top of both at exactly the same spot so they still work together. Keep the small cardboard rectangles, you'll need them for later.

2.) take your plastic sheet and glue it in on the first big rectangle on the inside (opposite the side you want facing out.) Let sit for an hour or until dry.

3.) Spread glue around the inside face of the first big rectangle and glue second rectangle to first. Let sit for an hour or until dry.

4.) Use the smaller rectangles you made earlier to form a handle. Fold the bottoms of each outward at the same points to make "wings" and cut an oval big enough to get your hand through on the tops of each at the same point. Glue together. Let sit for an hour or until dry.

5.) Take the toilet paper rolls and cut both of them down the side vertically. Fit them together into one bigger roll so you can get your hand through it. Glue together. Let sit for an hour or until dry.

6.) When everything is dry, glue the tp roll to the back of the shield where you want your arm to be. Let sit for an hour or until dry.

7.) Glue the wings of handle to the opposite side of shield. Measure where you want it before you glue! Let sit for an hour or until dry.

Done!

~Optional But Recommended~

1.) Wrap ducked tape around arm slip and handle for a more comfortable grip. Tape the arm slip and handle down to make it sturdy (As you can see I used yellow tape but you can use any color.)

2.) Paint front of shield with any color spray paint. (I used Krylon Fusion for plastic "Hammered Finish") Let sit until dry.

Have fun!

  • lol my berserker could go right through that

  • @FORWARDxUNTOxAWESOME

While I respect that you stepped up and play airsoft, 400 fps really doesn't hurt much, don't see why you need a shield. And 400fps doesn't leave bloody welts at distances more than 3 or 4 feet, so don't see why people make a big deal about it.

  • Wow, bitch can't take a hit from a NERF gun

  • are you kidding me.....you cant take the hit of a foam dart.....i have one for airsoft but thats just cuz i dont want bloody welts from 400 fps guns

  • Nice! what did you use for the visor area?

  • why no aluminum foil? it can create a signal to teamates

  • @TheShizzleTUBE NIIIIICE
