@Papa - you're getting confused there have TWO tournaments in the space of a week. This is the Neo Empire tournament. Prodigal Son won the Capcom tournament.

lol wut are u talking about? This happens only in the UK. In Japan and the US theres hardly ever any Sagats in top 8. Sagat is very effective against players who aren't very good, but at high levels you have to be exceptional to win with him, because he is really a one-trick pony. Sure he's got good tools, but against someone who knows what they're doing he can be beat quite easy. UK just doesn't have that many great player in all honesty.

Sagat is ranked as best in the game for a reason he is over powered! not unbeatable but over powered. He has one of if the the best zoning games, tiger shots are quick do good chip, tiger knee has little or no lag hits on the way up and down, can juggle his ultra for full damage, excellent stamina, etc....Dont give me that he hasnt won evo garbage because sagat has won plenty of tourneys.

A lot of people like to point out that Sagat wasn't even top 4 (or even 8?) at Evo. True, but there also wasn't a Mago at Evo, so I think the story isn't fully told yet.

Look, I don't mean any disrespect to anybody here, but can we please be real? Sagat is *clearly* stronger than he needs to be, for NO REASON. Can anyone honestly tell me Capcom was right for putting THIS Sagat in the same game as THIS Vega? Hell, even the other "good" characters have to work their ASSES off to beat Sagat.

Wrong.

Just because Sagat *can* be beaten, doesn't mean he's balanced. The very fact that Sagat is THE character to learn to beat says it all.

On top of that, you said it perfectly - he moves are basic, powerful, and easy. Why, then, does he have boosted HP and Stun?

Because he's so "balanced," right? Sorry, but Capcom got Sagat wrong in SFIV. Not by an unsurmountable margin, but he's still clearly better than he needs to be, for no good reason at all.

same here i think i would of beaten everyone but Prodigal Son, Zak n the Honda player. Everyone else i think i'd beat comfortably, but Prod SOn, Zak n Honda players were pretty full on.. even the Honda player never changed characters - very impressive. I give kudos for the Honda player not changing characters. But yea, grt top 3 i say, good enough to play alot of other countries teams
