Oh, bullocks. That's just semantics. Gates pulled rank by his professional creds, got Obama sucked into the debate, and got Crowley in trouble, too. We all need humillity in life and not to walk around with chips on our shoulders, hostile to certain people, and poisoning the atmosphere with resentments.

give it up, its tiring to hear how blacks are so mistreated. yet Billions of dollars are given to thier communities, they have preferental hiring not to mention all kinds of goverment programs just for them, all because they are black. Yet they commit the most violent crimes. high HIV rates, high drop out rates, high born out of wed lock rates. yet its alwaaaaays someone elses fault. get over it and get a job, be responsible for your actions. damn.

If you are black, just scream at the cops and treat them like shit, then claim racial profiling. This is the entire case here and if you are friends with Obama, he will call the cops stupid...great president!

I personally feel that hatred in any form is destructive to our psyche. If you hate others, you only hurt yourself. Politicians like to pit us against one another to keep our eye off the ball. Poverty knows no color or ethnicity but politicians use poverty, race, and class envy to divide us and sadly enough it works with many. Some of the comments here reflect that weakness we all have at times to be manipulated.

A black friend of mine has a very eloquent definition of a racist. "If you think that because of your race, you are in any way better than anyone else in any way whatsoever, you are a racist" I think that if we all gave that some thought, it might help us all come to grips with who we are. I believe in my heart that we all should be Americans first and everything else somewhere behind that.

I have been on both sides of the law in my lifetime and I agree that there are police that abuse their power. All criminals abuse their power every chance they get .l I also know what can happen to a slow witted officer in a situation like this. This guy was not slow witted and was professional by the accounts of the witnesses, black and white. If you look hard for the racist boogeyman you can find it in any situation. Most people can find it at one time or another by looking in the mirror.

First, I would not have gone out on my porch without some i-d with me and someone else present because of the brutality police are known for in my community.2nd He did show him 2 forms of i-d. 3rd he asked the officer for his name and badge# and was refused. The President was right it was a stupid egoist arrest. The question that should be asked is if a so called qualified white person got so because some black persons rights were violated?

The police officer should have just left after he found he lived there gave his badge # and name and just left. They are public servants not public parents. Everyone is profiled????
