We know who the savages turned out to be, look at the real history. Massasoit was a peaceable leader of his people. The actor Dr Fuller revealed the real reason -"Land". It was Thankstaking. The Puritans of New England then passed a series of laws making any observance of Christmas illegal. Oh yea they met up with 500 nations already living on the land they wanted.

That's just not true. Part of understanding freedom for themselves to have their religion meant understanding that others had to have the same. They were leaving a place that wanted a state/religion relationship that governed the people according to the state religion. Why would they go somewhere and do the same thing? They wouldn't, and they didn't. They regressed that notion.

Must have been a shock to the natives who allowed one boat-load of people to settle when the boats kept coming and coming!

Granted, there are a lot of myths around the first Pilgrims and the 'first' thanksgiving that aren't completely true (they didn't wear buckled shoes or all black) nor did they come to set up a place for freedom of religion (they wanted freedom for their own brand of religion, no others).
