Japanese Dance Festival Soran-Bushi ソーラン節

The other morning while around Harborland in Kobe, Japan, I came across a university dance festival.

Check out one of the groups dancing to a traditional Japanese song about fishing (Soran-bushi ソーラン節).

Is this dance called yosakoi? I think they use this song for yosakoi. I love Japanese traditional dance!

Cool, but the song sounded quite un-japanese. The way the singer..err..sung the song it sounded like something from the Middle East. But cool nevertheless.
