K heres an idea... just like they have convertables... there should be a solar-charging top that comes out and covers your roof, so even if you get stuck in the middle of the Nevada desert... you wont have to worry about running out of range... just pull out the solar panel roof and have a few cigs, or text some friends, or listen to your ipod for a few hours and you're fully charged and ready to drive the rest of the way to Las Vegas :)

The Porsche GT would obviously be the winner, it has the most power. When you think about it, it wasn't a fair race.

Yes, plus the Tesla is designed to strike a balance between out and out performance and maximum range from a full charge. If they added more batteries and bigger motors it could EASILY match the Porsche for performance, but it's also trying to find buyers with an average commute.
Imagine what it will be like when battery technology improves so we can use more powerful motors and still get the same or better range. Top Gear is an irrelevant dinosaur these days! :D

@VimVendors also it would appear that the Carrera is in front on the line while the Tesla is in the back - not exactly a fair comparison.

Seems a little unfair that only the Porsche gets to warm it's tyres first. Maybe if the others did it wouldn't have had quite the advantage.
But let's remember the price difference too. For about the same price as an average family car, you too can build an electric conversion that will be faster than the Tesla and quite possibly challenge a several hundred thousand quid Porsche!
