@EdmundStAustell I'm sure your filing system is better than mine, Edmund! That's one of the reasons I don't upload. But digging is the sign of a TRUE collector. Thanks for searching.

This is stunning in the great tradition- her voice was fexible but also beautiful
and expressive as the opening section indicates.

@65attila I agree. It is a superb bit of singing.

As Bivolari states, it's a little rushed, unless compared to Galvany's recording! Otherwise, Nezhdanova turns in a skillful performance. Among more modern sopranos, Beverly Hoch (on youtube, last I checked) is very fine. Of the oldies, my favorite is Galli-Curci's acoustic version. I also like the recordings of Tetrazzini (no longer on youtube), Callas, Hempel, and Pons. Thanks for posting, Edmund.

@meltzerboy I need to dig around (note the excellence of my filing system) to see if I have the Tetrazzini. If I can find it, I'll put it up.

This is singing of a very high order. It's a little rushed, but she more than overcomes the tempo. She is right up there with the best of them.
Bivolari 1 year ago
@Bivolari yes, certainly better than some of the modern sopranos who dare to try it.
