In the archives of Bethlehem Steel, workers drilled holes in the new nickel steel ingots, pack them with dynamite, plug them, and set them off. There was a loud noise and the nickel steel ingots still remained intact. Maybe the Germans built their battleships with better steel alloy armor with sufficient thickness and combined with their designs numerous water tight bulkheads, both crosswise and lenghtwise with a lot of safety compartmentalization within their battleships. Check their blueprints

I think an awful lot of bullshit is voiced in docs like these. Cordite and shell can only be hoisted at a finite speed dictated by the cage whips. Stockpiliing cordite gains no speed at all.
The trunk bottom is in the magaazine and the perfectly natural thing would be to have unboxed half-charges ready to go. Flash was a known issue between decks then, but it was also an issue in all subsequent conventionally gunned warships.
Poor handling, my arse. Good shots sink battleships. End of.

@Tyco200: Perhaps, but a strategic victory for the British. The German High Seas Fleet retreated back into port and never came out again. The British blockade was maintained and ultimately this made a major contribution towards the outcome of the war.
RIP to the brave men who died on both sides.

This was a tactical victory for the Germans... Three battle cruisers, 6,000 men and 3 armored cruisers to 1 dread naught, a battle cruiser and three light cruisers.

Pretty obvious why Britain lost three cruisers. Poor deck armor, in comparison to the German BBs. Battle cruisers were always flawed, despite their beauty. Small amount of deck armor will always lead to a certain incident.

why does he keep saying "Hang in the balance" about the battle? The Germans were constantly trying to get way.

@DSMeclipsegst Well, Texas is the only dreadnought left, so they decided to use it for some scenarios to represent it as a british dreadnought battleship.

@pharrrrk Re: "interesting but not new": yeah: sad to remark that there is many a UK television history entertainment presented as an original investigation with newly discovered conclusions; they are, after all, catering for the mass market which producers assume will have either little or no meaningful knowledge on the topic :-)

I thought it was pretty apparent that Queen Mary, Indefatigable, and Invincible were lost due to poor ammunition handling procedures. Nothing earth shattering here. Still interesting though.
Could you perhaps upload the seond episode: Clash of the Dfreadnoughts"?

There is no second episode of "Clash Of The Dreadnoughts". I only have 4 episodes, and all of them are posted in my channel.
